Lionza is a small village at 800 metres with a view over the whole Centovalli, among idyllic hamlets and imposing mountains. Ascona is 25 minutes away by car; street parking is free, and it is about a 5-minute walk from the parking up to the rustico.

The Vigezzina-Centovalli railway runs just below: from Camedo or Verdasio you board one of the most beautiful railway lines in the world, from Locarno to Domodossola across bridges, gorges and villages clinging to the mountainside.
The Via del Mercato, the old mule track down to Intragna, starts from the village. From Verdasio a cable car climbs to Rasa, a car-free hamlet, and to Monte Comino. In Lionza itself, Palazzo Tondü and the 1636 oratory of Saint Anthony of Padua.
Twenty-five minutes by car and you are in Ascona on the lakefront, or in Piazza Grande in Locarno, with boats out to the Brissago Islands.
